
Drivers in and around Eden will have 10 roadworks to watch out for this week.
And two of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing holdups of between 10 and 30 minutes.
Eight closures will begin over the next seven days:
- M6, from 8pm July 20 to 5am July 21, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 southbound, J41 to J40, lane closure for drainage.
- M6, from 8pm July 20 to 4pm July 29, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 northbound and southbound, junction 38 to junction 39, lane closures to repair CCTV.
- A66, from noon , July 25 to 5am July 26, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A66 westbound, Brougham Dual to Kemplay Roundabout – lane closure switching for electrical work.
- M6, from 8pm July 25 to 6am August 25, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 northbound, junction 36 to 45 – lane closure for construction improvement/upgrade.
- M6, from 8pm July 26 to 6am August 26, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 northbound, junction 36 to 45 – lane closure for construction improvement/upgrade.
- A66, from 8pm July 27 to 4am July 28, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A66 westbound, Kemplay to Skirsgill – lane closure for carriageway reconstruction/renewal.
- A69, from 8pm July 31 to 6am September 3, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M6 northbound, junction 40 to 42 – lane closure for construction improvement/upgrade.
- M6, from 10pm August 1 to 6am August 2, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 northbound, junction 41 to 42 – lane closure for construction improvement/upgrade.
Two closures are already in place are expected to carry on this week:
- A66, from 4pm July 2 to 6am July 24, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A66 eastbound and westbound, Kemplay Roundabout to junction 40, carriageway closures and convoy working for carriageway reconstruction/renewal.
- A66, from 8am December 17 2021 to 8pm December 16 2022, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M6, junction 40 Roundabout and northbound, main carriageway and A66 Kemplay bank TM Embargo every Friday daytime.
National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in its schedule.
