
Police in Penrith are investigating a report of arson in the early hours of Sunday.
A spokeswoman for the force said: “Police were contacted at 12.58am on Sunday, May 29, by Cumbria Fire and Rescue to the report of an arson in the area of Gilwilly Road.”
It was reported that a fire had been set on a picnic bench near the Castletown community centre, home of Wetheriggs United Football Club.
