
A man has been arrested following reports that a male had been spotted chasing people with an axe at a Penrith supermarket.
Police were called to Morrisons garage forecourt at around 7.50pm last night.
It is understood a man chased a handful of people with the weapon. He was wearing Bermuda shorts.
A police spokesman said: “Officers have attended and arrested a 24-year-old man on suspicion of affray and possession of an offensive weapon.
“He remains in police custody.”
