Here are the results from the 2023 local election results in Cumbria.

Polls closed at 10pm last night and counts took place overnight. The Allerdale area count – which includes Keswick – takes place today.

All contested parishes and wards for Westmorland and Furness Council have been verified and the results are below.

Those elected are bolded up.

Penrith Town Council

Penrith North – four seats

Turnout 31.8%

  • William Balderstone, Conservatives 273 votes
  • Paul Jackson, Labour 339 votes
  • Michael Scott Jackson 385 votes
  • Daniel Marcus Jayson, Liberal Democrats 676 votes
  • Ronald J Kenyon 605 votes
  • Dale Normington, Conservatives, 241 votes

Penrith South – two seats

Turnout 22.2%

  • Roger Burgin, Liberal Democrats 298
  • Margaret Clark 154
  • Danny Smith, Labour 159

Penrith West – three seats

Turnout 22.2%

  • Barbara Jayson, Liberal Democrats 271
  • Dave Knaggs, Labour 169
  • Hilary Snell, Labour 172
  • Jeff Thomson, Independent 246

Crosby Ravensworth Parish Council – seven seats

Turnout 59%
