An air ambulance service has confirmed that it treated multiple patients after a crash on the M6 at Tebay but that no one was airlifted to hospital.
The Great North Air Ambulance Service was called to a crash involving multiple vehicles at 4.03pm.
Reports suggest a motorist was travelling south on the northbound carriageway.
A spokesman for the Great North Air Ambulance Service said: “We had a doctor and paramedic onboard and flew to assist the North West Ambulance Service in treating patients.
“We didn’t airlift anyone from the scene.”
