Two new signings are included in Penrith AFC first team’s squad for today’s home game against Whitley Bay as Chris Humphrey’s side aim to chalk up three Northern League Division I wins on the trot.
Victory over Thornaby at Frenchfield Park 10 days ago was followed with an excellent 2-1 success away to Guisborough Town last Saturday.
And as the Blues prepare to host Whitley Bay, who sit two places and five points above them this afternoon (3pm kick-off), they have announced the capture of two new defenders having previously lost key members of their back line to long-term injury.
Bermuda national team player J’Nai Butterfield-Steede, 23, is a pacy, attacking left back whose previous clubs include Kendal Town, Kidderminster Harriers and Ilkeston Town. In a message on Twitter this morning, he posted: “New challenge. Time to get to work.”
Also signed on is 26-year-old defender Harry Pilkington, who has previously played for fellow Northern League sides Consett and Billingham and was formerly a member of Sunderland AFC’s Academy. He has also played overseas — in the United States, France and Germany.
