Police have seized a van operating in Alston without a scrap licence.
Eden Police said the driver was not wearing a seatbelt and the vehicle had three tyres with cord exposed.
The driver was reported for road traffic offences and the vehicle was seized as part of a joint scrap investigation with Eden District Council.
