A Penrith man has appeared in front of magistrates after stalking a woman during the course of a week before Christmas with unwanted texts and phone calls.
Daniel Wordsworth, (36), faced two charges at Carlisle’s Rickergate court.
One charge involves the stalking of a woman which amounted to the harassment of her between Monday, 11th and Sunday, 17th December.
Wordsworth pleaded guilty to committing that offence by sending numerous unwanted text messages and phone calls, and attending the woman’s home address.
Wordsworth, of Greystoke Park Road, Penrith, also admitted breaching bail conditions which had been imposed at a previous court hearing, by entering a road in the town on New Year’s Eve.
Magistrates adjourned the case and asked for the preparation of a probation service pre-sentence report to assist the sentencing exercise.
Wordsworth is due to receive his punishment at the court on 15th January, and in the meantime he has been remanded in custody.
