Cranstons’ Cafe Oswald’s is celebrating its 15th anniversary.
The cafe, above Cranstons’ Cumbrian Food Hall in Penrith, opened its doors in 2009.
In 2023 alone, the café served over 15,000 full English breakfasts.
Chris Thomson, managing director of Cranstons, said: “Reaching 15 years is an incredible achievement.
“Café Oswald’s embodies everything Cranstons stands for—high-quality local food, community spirit, and a commitment to supporting local producers. It has become a key part of our offering at the Cumbrian Food Hall, and we’re excited to see how it continues to grow and evolve in the future.”
In 2021, the café underwent a significant renovation, which included the introduction of an in-house bakery.
Café manager Joe Bowness added: “It’s been a privilege to be part of Café Oswald’s success story. What makes this café so special is the people – both our incredible staff, who work tirelessly to provide the best possible experience, and the loyal customers who have supported us over the years.
“Café Oswald’s has always been more than just a place to eat; it’s a community hub where people come to enjoy good food and great company. We’re immensely proud of what we’ve achieved and look forward to continuing to serve the community for many more years to come.”
