The A66 has reopened after an earlier closure due to snow.
The road had been shut in both directions between Brough and Scotch Corner, with vehicles stranded on the road and in need of recovery.
National Highways traffic officers were called to assist with traffic management and gritters were also deployed.
The road has now reopened.
