Eden Police yesterday supported an operation which targeted HGVs on the M6 and A66 in Cumbria and stopped 11 lorry drivers using mobile phones.
Operation Tramline was aimed at reducing road harm in the county and resulted in a number of issued traffic offence reports, with some drivers also being reported to court.
As well as the 11 mobile phone users, there were six excess speed offences, one driving without due care and attention, one overweight vehicle (Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency, DVSA), one expired MOT, and one prohibited vehicle lane three lorry driver.
ACC Blackwell was also out supporting Eden police officers on the operation.
