A Penrith motorist has been fined and banned from getting behind the wheel for three years for a drink-drive offence.
Andrew Hopkinson, aged 31, of Old London Road, Penrith, was just above the legal limit for alcohol in his breath while driving a Volkswagen Polo along Norfolk Road on 2nd October.
Officers from the Eden neighbourhood policing team had responded to reports of a road traffic collision on the street.
When he appeared in front of a district judge at Carlisle Magistrates’ Court, Hopkinson pleaded guilty to drink-driving and having no insurance policy for the vehicle.
Hopkinson was fined a total of £250 and given a 36-month driving disqualification.
