A fire at a Cumbrian recycling centre has now been fully extinguished.
Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service was called out in the late evening of December 29 to Thackwood Recycling Centre, near Southwaite.
Around 250 tonnes of shredded waste had caught alight.
Fire crews from Penrith and Lazonby have been at the scene since then tackling the blaze.
People were advised to close their windows and doors if they were affected by the smoke.
Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service said: “We can now confirm the sheltering message has been lifted and windows and doors can now be reopened again for ventilation and there should be minimal effects of smoke in the surrounding areas.
“We would like to thank the public for their patience and support whilst we worked to bring this incident safely to a close.”
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
