Two men have been sentenced for gathering at the same Appleby flat in breach of coronavirus rules.
Joseph James Patrick Boland and Stephen Dowthwaite attended the Heron Grove flats on April 3, in direct contravention of COVID-19 laws limiting gatherings of more than two people.
The charges were proven by single justice procedure. This involves the case being decided outside of court, with defendants receiving a single justice procedure notice.
Boland, 27, of Meadow Close in Appleby, and Dowthwaite, 40, of Scalegate Road in Carlisle, were each fined £1,760, were ordered to pay a £176 victim surcharge and £85 in costs.
