A stranded sheepdog was rescued by members of Kirkby Stephen mountain rescue team from an Eden beauty spot.
The dog had got trapped in the deep cut at Hell Gill, close to Mallerstang in the Upper Eden Valley, yesterday.
It was rescued by members of the crag and swift water teams.
While locating the dog in the gill they also found a marooned sheep and descended again to rescue it as well.
A mountain rescue team spokesman said both the dog and sheep are well.
