
Drivers in and around Eden will have nine National Highways roadworks to watch out from this week.
Three of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 and 30 minutes.
Six closures will begin over the next seven days:
- M6, from 8pm September 2 to 6am September 3, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 northbound, junction 41 to 42, Lane closure for Construction improvement/Upgrade.
- M6, from 8pm September 4 to 8pm September 7, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 northbound, junction 41 to 42, Lane one closure to allow verge site clearance works and pegging out communication cable.
- A66, from 8pm September 4 to 8pm September 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A66 eastbound and westbound, Cilburn, junction to A14 Boundary, Lane one and layby closures for grass cutting works.
- M6, from 8pm September 5 to 6am September 6, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 southbound, J40 to 39 – Lane closure for Construction improvement/Upgrade.
- A66, from 6am September 12 to 11pm October 28, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A66 eastbound and westbound, Stainmore Cafe to Brown Castle, Contraflow for resurfacing.
- M6, from 10pm September 12 to 4.30am September 14, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 southbound, jct 40 to 39 lane closures due to inspections.
Three roadworks already in place are expected to carry on this week:
- A69, from 8pm July 31 to 6am September 3, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M6 northbound, junction 40 to 42, Lane closure for Construction improvement/Upgrade.
- A66, from 8pm June 26 to 6am September 12, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A66 eastbound and westbound, Stainmore to Area 14 boundary, Lane two closure for construction of crossover.
- A66, from 8am December 17 2021 to 8pm December 16 2022, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M6, junction 40 Roundabout and northbound, main carriageway and A66 Kemplay bank TM Embargo every Friday daytime.
National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included its schedule.
