Roadworks for drivers to avoid in Eden

Eden’s drivers will have 12 roadwork sites to avoid nearby on the National Highways network.

And three of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 and 30 minutes.
The road closures are:

M6, from 8pm July 11 to 5am July 12, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 northbound and southbound, J39 to J38 – Lane closure for barrier/fence safety repairs on behalf of Kier.

M6, from 8pm July 12 to 5am July 13, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 northbound, J41 to J42 – Lane closure for drainage on behalf of Kier.

M6, from 8pm July 14 to 5am July 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 northbound and southbound, J40 to J41 – Lane closure for electrical works on behalf of Kier.

M6, from 8pm July 15 to 5am July 16, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 northbound and southbound, J41 to J42 – Lane closure for electrical works on behalf of Kier.

A66, from 8am to 8pm on July 16, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A66 Penrith and M6, junction 40 heavy traffic due to Penrith Show.

M6, from 8pm July 20 to 4pm July 29, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 northbound and southbound, junction 38 to junction 39, lane closures to repair CCTV.

A66, from noon, July 25 to 5am July 26, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A66 westbound, Brougham Dual to Kemplay Roundabout – Lane closure switching for electrical works.

M6, from 8pm July 25 to 6am August 25, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 northbound, junction 36 to 45 – Lane closure for construction improvement/upgrade.

Four closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

M6, from 9pm June 13 to 9pm July 12, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M6 northbound and southbound, junction 41 to 42, Lane three closures for barrier inspections, grasscutting/safety fence/drainage works.

• A66, from 4pm July 2 to 6am July 17, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A66 eastbound and westbound, Kemplay Roundabout to junction 40, carriageway closures and convoy working for carriageway – reconstruction/renewal.

• A66, from 8pm June 26 to 6am September 12, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A66 eastbound and westbound, Stainmore to Area 14 boundary, lane two closure for construction of crossover.

• A66, from 8am December 17 2021 to 8pm December 16 2022, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M6, junction 40 Roundabout and northbound, main carriageway and A66 Kemplay bank TM Embargo every Friday daytime.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
