A Penrith student has been presented with a top award for his work.
Ethan Ross, of Queen Elizabeth Grammar School, has won this year’s Lamont Pridmore Prize for Economics and Business.
Nominated by the head of economics and politics, Kate Judge, Ethan was recognised for his achievement of an A grade for business during his A-levels and making exceptional progress within his course.
Ethan, who is going on to study economics at university was presented with the award and a book voucher by Trevor Iredale from Lamont Pridmore.
Trevor, an independent financial adviser at the firm, said: “It was a real pleasure to present the award to Ethan who has achieved so much in his time studying at Queen Elizabeth. It will stand him in good stead, not only for his next step onto studying at university but also in whatever direction he takes afterwards.”
Lamont Pridmore supports several school awards across Cumbria, through which it promotes the benefits of business studies in hopes of cultivating the region’s next generation of business leaders.
It has worked with Queen Elizabeth Grammar School for many years and remains proud of its sponsorship of this annual award.
David Marchant, Queen Elizabeth School’s headteacher, said: “We are continually grateful to Lamont Pridmore for working with us to cultivate the young minds of the future in business and commerce. The relationship between education and business is an important one, which we are keen to see flourish.”
