Roper Street in Penrith is currently closed with police standing guard.
The road, just off Victoria Road, has been closed following a one-vehicle collision.
A grey car was seen at the scene at 2.45pm.
Five police vehicles are on the scene along with an ambulance. Paramedics are assessing the driver for injuries.
Both cars and pedestrians are being refused access along the stretch of road from its junction with Victoria Road up to the junction with Old London Road.
A police spokesman said: “We were called shortly after 2pm.
“It appears at this stage that a car – a Honda Jazz – has collided with a number of parked cars.
“An ambulance in attendance assisting the two occupants of the Jazz. There is not believed to be anyone else injured.
Emergency services are still at the scene and the road is closed currently.”
