
A Penrith man has been fined for attending an illegal COVID rave in Cumbria.
Kieran Hughes attended the rave at North Lakes Business Park in Flusco, near Penrith, on April 4, in direct contravention of coronavirus rules restricting meetings indoors involving more than two people.
The offence was proven by single justice procedure. This involves the case being decided outside of court, with defendants receiving a single justice procedure notice.
Hughes, 31, of Carleton Road in Penrith, was fined £2,090, was ordered to pay a £190 victim surcharge and £85 in costs.
The case was decided on November 1.
