
UPDATE: Search continues for missing paddleboarder
A paddleboarder has gone missing while out on the water in the Lake District.
Emergency services were called to Ullswater yesterday after the man, from Greater Manchester, got into difficulty on Ullswater at around 1.10pm.
He remains unaccounted for and emergency services have returned to Ullswater to continue their search.
The man was reported to be paddleboarding with a friend in the area of Aira Point, close to the ferry stop, when he fell into the water.
Emergency services were called after the man’s friend and others on the lake were unable to locate him.
The man’s family have been made aware and are being supported by police officers, Cumbria police said.
People are asked to stay clear of the vicinity while emergency services continue to work.
