A man has been charged after officers stopped a vehicle on the M6 near Tebay yesterday.
Police seized 10kg of amphetamine, 20 blocks of cannabis resin and 675g of suspected mephedrone from the vehicle, with a combined street value of over £100,000 yesterday morning.
Barry Simmons, 40, of Merseyside, has been charged with possession with intent to supply amphetamine and possession with intent to supply cannabis.
The seizure forms part of Operation Alliance, Cumbria Constabulary’s response to protect the county against serious and organised crime.
Simmons appeared before Barrow Magistrates Court today, August 16, and has been remanded into custody until his next hearing at Carlisle Crown Court in September.
