A man has appeared in court accused of a robbery at Penrith’s Go Outdoors store this week.
Liam Green, 28, faces one charge which arises out of an incident at the Ullswater Road outlet on Tuesday.
This charge alleges that he robbed a company employee of clothing with an unknown value.
When he appeared at Carlisle Magistrates’ Court, Green entered no plea to the allegation.
His case was sent by magistrates to the city’s crown court, where he is due to appear in front of a judge for a plea and trial preparation hearing on May 12.
Green was produced to the court from custody but was granted bail with one condition: that he observes an electronically monitored curfew to live and sleep each night at his home address.
A second charge which had alleged that Green took a bicycle without consent in Penrith on the same date was withdrawn by the prosecution.
