Some Appleby businesses have been unable to take electronic payments for goods for nearly 48 hours following a loss of internet service.
One town resident has posted on Facebook: “It’s coming up to 48 hours. Hope all the local businesses are managing, for most of us, this is just an inconvenience, but for them not being able to access online orders and process card payments at this time of year must be very stressful.”
In a statement posted online yesterday, TalkTalk said: “We’re aware that customers connected to the Appleby exchange are currently experiencing a loss of service. We’d like to apologise for any inconvenience caused during this time.”
