Firefighters tackled a major barn fire on Saturday night and rescued 100 sheep.
Crews from Kirkby Stephen, Appleby, Sedbergh and Penrith along with the water bowser and support units were mobilised to the fire at Brough, near Penrith.
A Facebook post from Appleby Fire Station said: “Crews worked alongside the farmers to resolve this incident and without the concerted efforts from the farming community, this could have been a more protracted incident.
“We are also grateful to have access to a 24 hour fuel station, a luxury in the more rural corners of our county.”
