Five men have been reported by police for offences after complaints were made about cold callers in the Armathwaite and Calthwaite areas.
Police said concerns were raised on Tuesday afternoon following reports of males going door-to-door cold calling at the addresses of elderly residents.
Officers from Eden’s neighbourhood policing team conducted a search of the area locating a suspicious vehicle and spoke with five occupants.
“All have been reported (Summons to Court) for offences and escorted out of the area,” Eden police said.
The police are now appealing for witnesses as part of their ongoing investigation.
“We would like to speak to anyone who was visited by these males and may have information that might assist us,” they added.
