
A Penrith motorist has been banned from driving for 15 months after being caught driving with excess alcohol.
Darren Lawes, 34, of Carleton Place, admitted drink-driving in a Seat Ibiza on January 8 at Castle Hill Road when he appeared today at Carlisle Magistrates’ Court.
After being stopped by police, Lawes provided a specimen of breath for analysis which contained 56mcg of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.
The legal amount being 35mcg in 100 millilitres of breath.
He has received a 15-month driving ban and was ordered to pay £450 fine plus £85 costs.
