We welcomed the judges back to our village on July 6th.
There were two main judges, both of whom have been before, and a trainee judge. Altogether they were here for more than three hours, and we visited most areas starting on Millie Bank and finishing at the allotment.
I would like to say a big thank you to all those villagers who spent time preparing for their visit.
I know there are others, so if I have missed you out please forgive me and let me know but I have to thank the following people, Bridget Carruthers, John Jackson, Norman Brown, Stan Lane and a resident of Eden Park, unfortunately not named who went above and beyond. Much appreciated.
I would also like to thank those members of KEG and the allotment holders who worked especially hard, particularly Howard Quinn, Clive and Ruth Griffiths, Nigel and Lois Harbron and Kevin and Dot Rowley.
There were also lots of people who contributed to the booklet and the judges commented that in the past it had been one of the best they had ever seen
Thank you to all those who planted and weeded etc.
The judges were very positive, but we will wait and see what the outcome is in September.
Meanwhile, we were asked to submit online entries to Britain in Bloom.
It was very difficult to fit in with the categories and their format but thanks to Howard I finally pressed the submit button on our two submissions, Gardening for Wildlife and Green Solutions.
