People are urged to join a challenge in the Lake District for an action-packed day to raise funds for Eden Valley Hospice and children’s hospice Jigsaw.
On Saturday August 7, the charity will host its first Bikes, Boats, Boots Challenge, which will include cycling, canoeing, and hiking.
The event is made up of five stages and during the challenge, fundraisers will complete a total of 30 miles cycling, a two-mile canoe on Ullswater and a round trip of six miles hiking to the 726m summit of Helvellyn.
Eleanor Viney, Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw fundraising manager, explained “We are really excited to be hosting this wonderful challenge in the beautiful Lake District.
“We know that so many people enjoy exploring the lakes, fells and mountains in our home county, but this event will offer new and exciting ways to explore the landscape and challenge themselves this summer.
“Whether people enter as a team of four, a couple or individually we can guarantee a brilliant day of adventure and fundraising. Throughout the day, you will work as a team of four fantastic fundraisers supporting local people with life limiting illnesses.”
The money raised by each fundraiser taking part in Bikes, Boats, Boots will help Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw to provide specialist care and compassion to people with life limiting illnesses, their families, friends and carers.
Registration for Bikes, Boats, Boots is now open. Registration for a Fundraiser is £50 per person, with a minimum donation amount of £375.
The hospice also has a self-funded registration fee of £225 with no minimum donation.
