Now that we have at last got the approval for our B4RN fibre broadband project, we want to move ahead as quickly as we can.
Brian, Jenny and Sue had their first planning meeting on Thursday 19th August. These are some of the things you can do to help
The deadline for vouchers is 24th September. If you haven’t already signed up please do so as quickly as possible.
This is the fastest and the cheapest broadband available in the country. It will increase your house value and will prepare you for the future. Broadband usage has moved so quickly and this broadband will future-proof your property.
If you have a contract with another company of 12 months or less, B4RN will connect you but charge only £5 per month until that contract has run out. So you will have all the benefits but not the headache of having to pay twice.
B4RN shares are available to anyone and for £1500 you will get a free connection and can get up to four free connections to share with
whoever you want. You will get five per cent per annum and have to invest for three years minimum.
You can volunteer. We will need lots of volunteers for all sorts of things but the first thing we need volunteers to do is to help dig. To get the fibre to your house you can either do it yourself or you can ask some volunteers, or you can ask a contractor to do it for you.
B4RN give you £150 back towards the cost of this and most properties will be covered by that amount.
We are looking for dig volunteers from all areas of the parish.
Call or email and we will arrange a dig training session – how deep, where. how to put in the cable etc. Please give your details to Sue on 898543 or Brian 898474. As soon as we have some volunteers we can begin. If you can’t dig you could make tea or bake.
We are still in the planning stages but when we know more we will be holding a public meeting.
