Appleby firefighters joined others around Cumbria yesterday by taking part in a charity car wash in support of the Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal.
In total, more than £3,600 has been raised by events which took place at Appleby, Barrow and Milnthorpe – with further car washes due to be held at Maryport and Millom on Saturday, April 9.
A post on Appleby Fire Station’s Face book page said: “To everyone who came to support our charity car wash in support of the Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal.
“We raised an absolutely amazing £1,220. As a station we are grateful to have such brilliant support from our local community.”
