A 17-year-old boy is in a critical condition after a collision on the A66 yesterday.
The incident involved the boy and a HGV and the youngster, from Penrith, was airlifted to hospital in Newcastle.
Emergency services were called at around 12.40pm to the eastbound carriageway between junction 40 of the M6 and Kemplay Bank roundabout.
Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or have dash cam footage which may assist the investigation to contact them.
