Thousands of people have signed our petition in just a few days to Save Newton Rigg.
MPs are set to grill the operators of the agricultural college tomorrow as part of a Parliamentary inquiry into land-based education and ask them why the decision was made to pull out of Cumbria.
Newton Rigg, near Penrith, has a long and distinguished history in the county, but its owners – Askham Bryan – announced last year that it was closing the campus.
We launched our petition on Thursday in a bid to show the MPs the strength of feeling in the county and almost 3,000 people have already signed it.
But we need more signatures. Time is of the essence to make your voice heard about the future of Newton Rigg.
We only have until tomorrow afternoon to make national decision makers sit up and take notice.
