Work to replace Penrith’s ageing gas pipes has now moved into its second phase.
While traffic is now flowing again on Brunswick Road and Middlegate following completion of the first phase, workers from Northern Gas Networks have moved on.
The closure affects Devonshire Street and a small portion of Middlegate, near the Narrows, is closed for the work to be carried out.
Phase three of the work starts in King Street, where there will be a road closure from Monday February 5, for three weeks.
