A man has been seriously injured after he was hit by a vehicle on the M6.
There were several collisions near Tebay yesterday, December 27, from around 8.30pm.
Cumbria police said: “It appears this has followed a downpour of hailstones which made the road conditions particularly difficult.
“The most serious collision involved someone struck by a vehicle at the roadside.
“He was taken to Preston Hospital was serious injuries to both of his legs.”
It is understood the man got out of his car on the hard shoulder of the motorway and was struck by another vehicle.
The road reopened this morning.
