Showed immense composure and courage, whilst contending with multiple complex issues, concurrently. WILKINSON. — Peacefully, at home, on Sunday, 12th February, Sheila, of Kirkby Stephen, dearly loved and missed mother, mother-inlaw, grandmother, greatgrandmother, great-great-grandmother and friend to many. Aged 86 years. A local historian and genealogist, full of information especially about the local area she was born, grew up and lived her whole life in. She gave a lot to the community as a Guider, Parish Councillor, organiser of Santa visits in the Market Square for many years making sure every child received a gift and many other community endeavours. Funeral service at Kirkby Stephen Parish Church, on Friday, 24th February, at 11am, followed by interment at Kirkby Stephen Cemetery. Please feel free to wear a splash of colour. Thank you for her friends’ frequent enquiries, but especially to Heather, Margaret, Marlene and Ed for their weekly visits during her illness. Heartfelt thanks to nurse Judith Graham and social worker Linda Brown, whose efforts led to Rhona being in Newlands Nursing Home, Workington, where the wonderful staff, through loving care and treatment, kept her painless and comfortable in her final days.
