Penrith’s Rooster Grill has closed its doors for the final time.
Frank Jackson, owner of the Rooster on Ullswater Road, issued a statement on social media.
He said: “It is with great sadness that we have shut the Rooster doors for the last time. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our wonderful customers over 19 happy years and also my fantastic team without them we would have not been able to open the doors. All the best to everyone.”
In its prime, the Rooster was a busy canteen-style restaurant serving over 1,000 covers per week. It specialised in breakfasts and home-made lunches.
Last week, it issued a statement saying it had to close on Tuesday and Wednesday due to a staff shortage.
