2019 Tour of Britain champion Mathieu van der Poel

Stage Six of the Tour of Britain is in Cumbria tomorrow and some of the world’s best cyclists will be using the county’s roads to prove who is the best of the best.

The world-famous cycling event will begin Stage Six on Devonshire Walk in Carlisle at 10.45am tomorrow, before crossing the border into County Durham at about 1.45pm.

Here’s where you’ll be able to see the peloton and approximate timings:

Carlisle area

  • Devonshire Walk, Carlisle – 10.45am
  • Dalston Road, Carlisle – start proper – 11am
  • B5299 through to Welton – 11.05am – 11.07am
  • Welton to the B5305 – 11.11am – 11.14am
  • B5305 past Sebergham and Unthank 11.14am to 11.17am
  • Exit B5305 and follow the road to Greystoke – 11.39am – 11.48am

Eden area

  • Blencow to Greystoke – 11.36am to 11.44am
  • Greystoke – 11.39am – 11.48am
  • Join the B5288 – 11.40am – 11.49am
  • Motherby – 11.43am – 11.53am
  • Cross the A66 near Penruddock – 11.46am – 11.56am
  • Matterdale End – 11.51am – 12.03pm
  • Follow the A5091 to Dockray – 11.52am to 12.03pm
  • Dockray – 11.54am – 12.06pm
  • Join the A592 alongside Ullswater to Watermillock – 11.55am – 12.07pm
  • Watermillock – 12.02pm – 12.16pm
  • Follow the A592 before joining the B5320 near Pooley Bridge – 12.08pm – 12.23pm
  • Follow the B5320 to Tirril – 12.09pm – 12.25pm
  • Tirril – 12.14pm – 12.30pm
  • Yanwath – 12.16pm – 12.33pm
  • Join the A6 near Eamont Bridge – 12.18pm – 12.36pm
