Fighters from the Mark Holding Mitsuru karate group attended the British Championships, which were held in Peterlee.
Day one saw Jed Thompson take the British -67 title with an emphatic win over his opponents adding to the English title he took just two weeks earlier.
Toby Axtell continues to improve and took a bronze in the -70 cadets.
On day two, Millie Gates matched Jed’s double title success by winning the -40 12-13 years fighting, continuing her impressive form.
Coco Woods, Ruby Alderson and Millie won silver in the girls’ team event, while Megan Scott, Hunny Davies and Lottie Mellowdew took bronze in the 8-9 years girls’ team competition.
The Mitsuru squad represents just a small section of the club which also offers traditional karate with its self-defence benefits.
