England’s rugby union fire service team was on hot form again in their latest match against Her Majesty’s Prison Service XV.
Full back Jamie McNaughton and second row Dan Richardson, both of Penrith Rugby Club, played the full 80 minutes in their country’s 56-5 victory at the home of Glamorgan Wanderers on Wednesday evening.
England, who led 21-0 at half-time, have now won all three of their matches this season against fellow emergency services sides.
They blazed to a 31-15 victory against a Welsh Fire team in November having recorded a thoroughly warranted 64-7 win over England’s police the previous month.
Jamie, of Penrith, is a full-time firefighter at BAE Systems in Barrow, while Dan currently works also full-time, for Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service at Kendal, having initially served on a part-time basis in Lazonby and his home village of Shap.
England Fire are aiming to keep up their flying form when they play their next game, against the RAF.
