Tribute has been paid to June Jameson, a long-standing member of Penrith Players, who died recently.
Mike Head, of the Players, said: “June has been a stalwart of Penrith Players for many years. She oversaw providing props for plays and was a marvel at that. She never failed to deliver even the most demanding of props. She also oversaw set and prop changes on stage and did that unfailingly.
“Latterly she managed front of house, making sure there were people on the door each night of a play and that they were up to speed on what needed to be done to ensure it went smoothly.
“To many people June was the face of Penrith Players as she greeted people at the door with her warm welcome. It is a great credit to her that much of this went unnoticed. She just got on with it, including organising safety officers. She served on the theatre committee in her front of house role and leaves an enormous hole at Penrith Players that will be difficult to fill.”
