A walker has collapsed and died while out on the Ullswater Way.
Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team and an air ambulance were called out on Saturday after the man collapsed on a path below Gowbarrow Fell.
Immediate medical care was given on the team’s arrival, but a spokesman said: “It is with great sadness that the gentleman could not be resuscitated and the team wishes to pass on our thoughts and condolences to his family and friends.”
