Residents of Askham and Helton found an inventive way to recycle their Christmas tree this year – goats.
Instead of ending up on landfill, the community let some of their four-legged friends have a special Christmas tree-t.
The tree which was supplied by Gillian Jenkinson and stood at Askham’s Health Barn throughout December, has been gifted to a Helton farm to be eaten by its goats and sheep.
“It’s obviously tree-licious,” said the animals’ owner, Pam Critchley. “Let’s hope they don’t get tinsil-it is.”
Featuring in the video are two goats, Heffie and Victor, and three Ouessant sheep, Jonnie, Jack and Lucky.
Not included were Pam’s two other goats Shania Twain and Willie Nelson.
Since being seen snacking on the community’s tree, more residents have come forward to offer Pam their own festive foliage.
