Drivers in Penrith are set to face delays for up to three weeks as roadworks are carried out in the town.
Several road closures are in place across the town.
The A592 – Cromwell Road has been closed from the roundabout at the B5288, by Morrisons, to Ullswater Road/Castlegate.
The mini roundabout at the junction of Ullswater Road and Cromwell Road has also been closed.
Contractors are on site to carry out carriageway reconstruction on Ullswater Road from its junction with Cromwell Road to the McDonald’s entrance.

Work is scheduled to take place from today, Monday March 3 until March 21.
Castlegate is closed from Great Dockray to Cromwell Road for safety reasons to prevent traffic driving up Castlegate and getting to closure point and not being able to turn around due to Castlegate being one-way.

It is estimated Castlegate will be closed to traffic for 10 days.
