Up to £10,00 is available to homeowners for energy-saving measures in Eden.
Eden District Council has announced the next phase in its Green Homes Grant (Local Authority Delivery) scheme.
Eden’s Green Homes Grant (LAD) scheme can provide funding of up to £10,000 for a range of energy-saving measures in Eden households, such as solar panels, air-source heat pumps and home insulation.
The Eden scheme is funded by central Government and the council is working in partnership with E.ON to deliver it locally.
To be eligible, residents must:
- have a household income of under £30,000 per year before tax;
- an Energy Performance Certificate, (EPC) level of E, F, or G;
- Not have already received a Green Homes Grant voucher.
Residents who live in older properties with solid walls, have an annual household income under £30,000, but don’t currently have an EPC rating for their property, can also apply.
E.ON will assess the property for an EPC and look to include the residents within the scheme.
Eden’s GHG scheme offers residents support throughout the application process.
In addition, more measures and funding may be available for some residents through the Council’s Eco Flex scheme. Details of which can be found at https://www.eden.gov.uk/housing/housing-support-and-grants/warm-homes-eden/.
Applications for the GHG scheme are now open.
A spokesman for Eden District Council, said, “This is a great opportunity for Eden’s residents to keep warm and well at home.
“Eden’s scheme which originally focused on specific Wards within the district, now invites potentially eligible households in other Eden Wards to apply too.”
Nigel Dewbery, director of residential solutions at E.ON, said: “Improving the energy efficiency of homes across the UK is key to meeting the nation’s net-zero targets, and can dramatically improve people’s living conditions, by helping to increase their comfort and reduce their energy bills.
“We’re delighted to be bringing these benefits to households across the Eden region as we continue to work with Eden District Council to install energy efficiency measures, such as insulation, solar panels or air source heat pumps, in the homes of eligible residents.”
