Ullswater Community College has been forced to send home pupils in year 11 after a student tested positive for COVID-19.
The year group was sent home on Monday to self-isolate in the latest bubble closure to affect the 1,490 pupil school.
In a post published on the school website headteacher Steven Gilby said: “We can confirm that a year 11 student at UCC has tested positive for COVID-19.
“We have been able to quickly implement our well-planned procedure, which complies with government and PHE recommendations.
“Students who may have been in close proximity to the student have been required to isolate for 14 days, as have any staff who were also in close contact.
“Let me take this opportunity to thank all the members of our community for their continued support; in particular the students, who continue to impress with their mature and responsible approach to these challenging times.”
