Eden has been issued with a thunderstorm warning by the Met Office.
It has issued a yellow weather warning for the majority of the UK from 9am to midnight on Saturday July 8.
The weather forecaster said: “Heavy showers and thunderstorms are expected over parts of the UK on Saturday. Cloud will thicken through the morning with showery outbreaks by mid-morning.
“This will turn heavy at times with hail and thundery downpours. Feeling warm and rather muggy in the afternoon. With a maximum temperature of 25 °C.”
What to expect
- There is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded quickly, with damage to some buildings from floodwater, lightning strikes, hail or strong winds
- Where flooding or lightning strikes occur, there is a chance of delays and some cancellations to train and bus services
- Spray and sudden flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures
- There is a slight chance that power cuts could occur and other services to some homes and businesses could be lost
