Thousands of people have been enjoying a day of festivities as part of Penrith’s annual Winter Droving culminating in a spectacular masked lantern parade through the town’s streets.
Events, ranging from street theatre to live musical acts, have been ongoing throughout the day.
A big hit was The Drovers Cup which saw five teams competing against each other in the town’s King Street.
Activities ranged from egg tossing to the pint pass, which tested the ability of competitors to race against each other carrying trays of beer.
There is also a large fairground in the Great Dockray area of Penrith which will be ongoing all evening.
