A lorry containing milkshakes and chocolate was stolen from a compound off Penrith’s Mardale Road on Saturday night.
The HGV and trailer were taken from the compound at about 10-15pm after two people were seen acting suspiciously in the area at about 9pm, prior to the theft.
A police spokesman said the HGV cab was white with a red stripe and the trailer was red with Alan Glendinning branding down the sides.
The HGV cab was recovered at 11.45pm, on the same night by police from a layby on the A6, while the trailer was located on Sunday by police in Warrington, following information passed to them from members of the public.
The contents of the trailer had been stolen.
