
Ten fire crews have battled a Cumbrian wildfire for over eight hours.
Cumbria Fire & Rescue Service were called at around 1.45pm yesterday, Tuesday May 20, to the fire near Warcop in east Cumbria.
Six fire crews and four specialist wildfire teams worked for over eight hours to bring the fire under control.
People living nearby were asked to close windows and doors as a precautionary measure.
The scene is being monitored for any reignitions, the service said.
The cause of the fire is not yet known and is under investigation.
